1. Privacy at Readr

 

Readr (we/us/our) respects your right to privacy and is committed to safeguarding your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose and store your information when you access or use our website, mobile applications or related services (collectively, the “Services”).

 

2. What Personal Information We Collect

 

2.1 We may, from time to time, receive, collect and store personal information you enter onto our software application, provide to us directly or give to us other forms.

 

Personal information includes for example: a) your name; b) email address; c) mobile number (optional); d) profile picture (if uploaded); e) reading preferences or habits (if provided); f) any user-generated content you submit; and g) information you provide via customer support, surveys, promotions or social features.

 

2.1 We may also collect non-personally identifiable information such as: your device type and ID; IP address; browser type; app usage data and analytics; location data (if permission is granted); and information collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies.

3.1 We may collect personal information in a variety of ways, for example (not limited to): a) when you register or create an account with Readr; b) through your interactions and activity within the app; c) when you communicate with us, including via support requests, surveys or marketing promotions; d) from third-party platforms, if you use social login or integrations; and e) automatically through analytics and tracking tools.

 

4. Use of Your Personal Information

 

4.1 We collect and use your personal information to: a) provide, operate and improve the Services; b) provide you with information and updates; c) make you aware of new and additional products, services and opportunities available to you; d) register and manage your account; e) track your reading sessions, preferences, and app activity; f) send notifications, reminders, updates and alerts related to your use of the app; g) respond to your enquiries and support requests; h) send promotional and marketing materials (if you opt in); i) understand how users engage with the app to improve functionality and user experience; and j) comply with applicable laws.

4.2 The app may permit third party social media features available to its users.

4.3 We cannot ensure the security of any information you choose to make public in a social media feature. Also, we cannot ensure that parties who have access to such publicly available information will respect your privacy. 4.4 Readr may contact you through various means including, but not limited to telephone, email, SMS or mail.

 

5. Disclosure of Your Personal Information

 

5.1 We may disclose your personal information: a) to our employees, contractors or related entities, where necessary for the delivery of our Services; b) to third-party service providers engaged to support the app (including Wix, analytics services and hosting providers); c) to comply with a legal requirement, such as a law, regulation, court order, subpoena, warrant, in the course of a legal proceeding or in response to a law enforcement agency request; d) We may also use your personal information to protect the copyright, trademarks, legal rights, property or safety of Readr, its application, website and customers or third parties. e) to potential buyers or investors in the event of a company restructure, merger, acquisition or sale of assets (subject to confidentiality agreements).

 

5.2 If there is a change of control in our business or a sale or transfer of business assets, we reserve the right to transfer to the extent permissible at law our user databases, together with any personal information and non-personal information contained in those databases. This information may be disclosed to a potential purchaser under an agreement to maintain confidentiality. We would seek to only disclose information in good faith and where required by any of the above circumstances.

 

5.3 Information that we collect may from time to time be stored, processed in or transferred between parties located in countries outside of Australia. These may include, but are not limited to the U.S..

 

5.4 By providing us with personal information, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the types of disclosure covered by this Policy. Where we disclose your personal information to third parties, we will request that the third party follow this Policy regarding handling your personal information.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and you acknowledge that you use the Services at your own risk.

 

7. Accessing, Correcting or Deleting Your Information

 

7.1 You may: a) request access to your personal information held by us; b) request correction of inaccurate, outdated or incomplete information; or c) request deletion of your personal information.

 

7.2 To make any of the above requests, please contact us at admin@readr.com.au. We will respond to all requests in accordance with the Privacy Act. We reserve the right to refuse to provide you with information that we hold about you, in certain circumstances set out in the Privacy Act.

 

7.3 You may also delete your account or uninstall the app at any time. Uninstalling the app will stop all further data collection.

 

8. Opting Out of Communications

 

8.1 You may opt out of receiving promotional communications by: a) clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any promotional email; b) adjusting your notification preferences within the app; or c) contacting us at admin@readr.com.au.

 

8.2 You will still receive essential service-related communications, such as account or security notifications.

 

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

 

9.1 We may use cookies and similar technologies to: a) recognise repeat visits to our website or app; b) monitor user engagement and app performance; and c) personalise your experience.

9.2 You may disable cookies through your browser or device settings, though some features of the Services may not function as intended if cookies are disabled.

The Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
